This is a compulsory course for ELED students aiming at enhancing students' assessment literacy by introducing students to major concepts in language assessment and notions of assessment for/as learning as well as equipping students with abilities to construct language tests and provide feedback for students' effective learning.
20% Group presentation - conduct a 25-minute oral presentation (including Q&A) about an alternative language assessment for secondary school students in groups of 4-5
30% Self-designed English language test - design an English language test with 10 reading questions, 10 grammar questions, and 10 vocabulary questions for primary school students at a specific year level in groups of 4-5
50% Term paper - write an essay about roles of assessment for/as learning in local English classrooms for about 2000 words
