This is a compulsory course for ELED students aiming at introducing classroom-based research, research methodologies, and research proposals. Students are required to develop a proposal for classroom-based research during the course and conduct the research during the second teaching practice.
20% Group presentation - students review three research articles related to the same topic in the field of English language education critically in pairs and give a presentation for 15 minutes
20% Critical review - students submit a written account of their presentation in two to three pages (single line spacing) in pairs
60% Research proposal - students write a proposal for classroom-based research in 3500-4000 words following formal academic conventions
