Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with a fundamental knowledge of Lingnan and Hong Kong’s cultural traditions and heritage in a wide range of areas, such as history, archaeology, religion, opera, film, calligraphy and painting, aiming to enhance students’ ability to appreciate and analyse cultural traditions and heritage artefacts by adopting an interdisciplinary approach. Through lectures and outside classroom learning activities, the course surveys the history and cultural traditions of Lingnan and Hong Kong from the Ming dynasty to the present and develops students’ knowledge of and interest in the historical transformations of regional culture and identity.
Assessment
100% Continuous Assessment (including classworks, 2 tests, presentation, term paper)
