This course introduces students the basic concepts and experimental approaches of cell biology as well as the physiological relevance of cell biology to the function of an organism. Specific topics include: 1) Introduction to the Cell; 2) The Endomembrane System; 3) Signal Transduction Mechanisms; 4) Cytoskeletal Systems and Cellular Movement; 5) Cancer Cell Biology; and 6) Stem Cell Biology and Emerging Cell Biology Development. A weekly tutorial will also cover selective topics on advanced cell biology techniques and development.Assessment
