Course Description
The objective of this course is to introduce the basic statistical concepts and techniques to the first year business students. The course aims to help students understand the value of statistics in acquiring knowledge and making decisions in business practice, develop students’ critical-and-thoughtful thinking skills, and equip students the ability to apply statistical analysis to business issues. The topics include descriptive statistics, probability, statistical inference, simple linear regression and basic ANOVA. Application of statistical methods to problems pertaining to business will be emphasized throughout this course.
