Course Description
Managerial economics is a branch of microeconomics. It focuses on applying microeconomic tools tothe decision-making in business firms. This course introduces you to an economic toolkit and a
strategic analysis framework for making managerial decisions in the modern business landscape with
scarce resources, competitive pressures, and government oversight.
This course addresses a wide variety of problems faced by business managers – issues such as
optimality of pricing strategies, soundness of investment decisions, and effectiveness of the hiring and
rewarding system. Emphasis is put on developing strategies to tackle these problems using economic
tools.
