Intermediate macroeconomic theory. Mainly focus on the long-run economic phenomenon.
Assessment
50% Midterm, 50% Final (Can earn points by answering questions in class, answering the class quiz question and take-home quiz. Sometimes he draws some lucky numbers in class and gives points to the students who submit the numbers correctly after class. All these points can be used to reduce the weight of exams. E.g., got 35 points before the midterm, then the midterm worth 15% only; got 10 points after the midterm, then the final worth 40% only)

The emphasis of this course is on the history of macroeconomic fluctuations and growth; recent theoretical analyses of such phenomena, for example, the New Classical and New Keynesian approaches; and the consequence and relevance of institutions and policies. Students should know elementary differential calculus and are advised to take ECON2021 before taking this course.
