Course Description
It is an elective course for students in the Faculty of Education while students from other faculties are also welcome to take the course. The course introduces basic counselling theories and equips students with skills useful for school guidance and counselling. Other topics related to school guidance and counselling, such as communication with parents and other professionals, bullying, crisis management, and self-care, are also covered.
Assessment
20% Participation and In-Class Activities - students have to complete and submit in-class exercises individually, in pairs, or in groups almost every lesson

30% Reflection Paper - students have to describe an experience of being "seen" or not being "seen" and describe qualities that they would like to let students know they notice in them as teachers in four to six pages by following guiding questions provided

50% Term Paper - students either reflect on their own roles as teachers in the school guidance team by answering guiding questions provided or compile a literature review on a specific topic related to school guidance and counselling negotiated with the instructor
