This is an elective course for ENGE and ELED students. The course is divided into three parts, the first of which presents a historical overview of four language teaching methods, including the grammar-translation method, the audio-lingual method, communicative language teaching, and task-based language teaching. The second part introduces four pedagogical grammar methods: task-based language teaching, concept-based instruction, processing instruction, and discourse-based grammar instruction. The course ends with an introduction of two English grammar structures: tense and aspect, and modals and conditionals.
