Course Description
This is a general education course for students affiliated to United College requiring students to plan, carry out, and reflect on a social service targeting on a specific group of target service recipients.
Assessment
Attendance - students are required to attend two pre-service briefing and one post-service evaluation session

Proposal - students have to form groups of 8-12, plan a community service targeting on a specific group of target service recipients (e.g. newly-arrived children, deprived children, young night drifters) that lasts for about 4-5 hours, and submit a proposal on their plan

Community service - students have to carry out their plan after receiving feedback from the instructor and the non-government organization involved, and students' performance will be evaluated according to the feedback provided by the non-government organizations

Group presentation - each group has to give a presentation on their community service for 25 minutes and hold a question & answer session lasting for 5 minutes

Self-reflection report - each student has to submit a written report reflecting on their experience throughout the course (1000-1500 words in English or Chinese)
