Course Description
This is a general education course for students affiliated to United College requiring students to conduct research on a social topic of their own interests in groups of 4.
Assessment
20% Class participation - attend every lesson and participate actively in discussions, and submit interim report at the beginning of the semester

30% Oral presentation - conduct an academic presentation lasting for 45 minutes to 1 hour about your research in English or Putonghua and lead a question & answer session

50% Written report - write an academic paper based on your research for 6000-10000 words in English or Chinese
