Course Description
System simulation, data analysis, statistical inference, regression, correlation and variance analysis, sensitivity analysis, variation reduction and importance sampling techniques for rare events. Workload representation and traffic generation. Experimental design. Basic queuing theory (Little's Law, M/M/1 and variations). Operational laws. Case studies on client-server systems. The course syllabus may be updated from year to year.
