Course Description
This is an introductory course on syntax. It analyzes sentence structures, introduces diagnosing tests, and explains linguistic phenomena using the X-bar theory and drawing on language data of mainly the English language and also cross-linguistic data.
Assessment
36% Assignment (x3) - written assignments requiring students to solve syntactic problems or provide argumentation for syntactic phenomena

28% Mid-Term Exam - 4 questions / 1 hour 35 minutes (100 marks)

36% Final Exam - 6 questions / 2 hours (100 marks)
