1. Test [40%]

During the course, some 70-80 short questions about lecture materials will be handed out. Answers to the questions are either available in text book or from lecture notes. You are advised to work on those questions and memorize the answers. A significant portion of those questions will come out in the test. You are expected to answer those questions with short answers – no more than 30-40 words.

Some multiple choice items will be included in the test paper.

The test will also include a case study to which you will be required to write a 4-500 word analysis of the case using the concepts of a firm’s strategies in international operation.



2. Group project [15%] and presentation[15%] and individual report [25%]

You are required to form teams of 3-5 persons each to work on project in cross-border selling of a product or service involving Hong Kong or China or other countries. Each team presentation should not take more than 30 minutes. Four teams will be assigned to the same topic. 3 PROJECT TOPICS The teams will present their business plan in class. The class is expected to discuss the presented plans. At the end of the presentations for each class, each one in the class will be asked if he/she will invest in which team. The team that has the most investment will earn 5% of the total score, the team that comes second will earn 4% of the total score, the third team will get 3% and the team that has least investment will earn 1% of total score.



Each member of each team will present a part of the business plan. Individual performance [use of English, pronunciation, clarity, gesture, eye contact and logic] will be rated by the lecturer for up to 15% of total score.



Each student will write a 4-5 page business plan [not including tables and attachments]. The content is from the team but the write-up must be an individual effort.



4 students will be chosen to do a report and presentation on China South City and O2O e-commerce. The report and presentation will be graded by the lecturer.





3. Class Discussion [5%]

There will be a Q&A in each class and the participants will be recorded and graded for participation and quality of remarks.

Those to offer to help to organize the field trip will be given 2% extra for the service to the class.
