Course Description
In this course we will explore how behaviour is controlled and shaped by environment resulting in learning and memory. The basic processes responsible for learning and memory are observable not only in the laboratory but also in everyday life settings. Our objective therefore is to discover and understand these very subtle processes, and to recognise the role they play in our day-to-day living.

To be more specific, the course is about:

(i) habituation and conditioning as basic forms of learning across species; (ii) control of conditioning learning by environmental context;

(iii) extinction (forgetting);

(iv) low-level cognition
