Course Description
Work is an indispensable part of life. And the study of psychology at work is a domain of Industrial/ Organizational (I/O) psychology. This course focuses on the application of psychological methods and principles in understanding the world of work and work behaviors.
Topics include: Job Analysis, Job Selection, Equal Opportunities, Performance & Measurement, Training & Development, Motivation, Attitudes, Stress & Wellbeing, Teams in Organizations, and Leadership.
The course includes an optional field trip to Hong Kong Police College.
Assessment
20% Midterm Exam: 57 MCQs
30% Final Exam: 70 MCQs
25% Group Project: Create a Behavioral Anchor Scale that measures a skill needed in a specific job + Come up with interview questions to assess the skill.
20% Individual Reflection: Write a 4-6 page reflection on the group project
5% Peer evaluation
