Intro to ppl without any background in French
Assessment
1. In-class tests (40%)
Based on the textual and linguistic content of the lectures. The main emphasis is on reading comprehension,
translation and understanding of sentence structures.
2. Compositions (20%)
Based on topics discussed in the lectures. Emphasis is on writing performance, creative skills and research.
3. Quizzes & Home assignments (20%)
Based on the grammatical and vocabulary content of the lectures, grammar and conversation groups. Emphasis
is on the knowledge and application of grammatical rules, verb conjugations, vocabulary and oral and written
sentence patterns.
4. Group Presentation (10%)
Based on cultural themes and topics discussed in the lectures. Emphasis is on collaborative skills, research of
information and vocabulary.
