This is an elective course for ELED students associated with learning English through drama. Focusing on process drama instead of performance drama, the course aims at equipping students with an ability to incorporate conventions of process drama into English language teaching.
30% Lesson planning - students construct a lesson plan for an English drama lesson lasting for approximately 90 minutes using a given template and produce all instructional materials in groups of three to four
30% Micro-teaching - students implement 30 minutes of their constructed lesson plan in class
40% Essay - students write an essay in 1400 words to reflect on strengths and weaknesses of their lesson plan and micro-teaching and discuss potentials and challenges of incorporation of drama into English language teaching in Hong Kong
